Terms of Service

Last updated: 2026-04-23

These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) govern your access to and use of filetemp.io (the “Service”, “we”, “us”). By using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. The Service

filetemp.io is a temporary file-hosting service. Users may upload files which are stored for a duration the user selects (1, 7, or 30 days), after which the files are automatically and permanently deleted. The Service does not require account registration.

2. Your responsibilities

  • You are solely and entirely responsible for any file you upload, the contents of that file, and the consequences of sharing the resulting download link.
  • You represent and warrant that you own, or have all necessary rights, licenses, consents, and permissions in, any content you upload.
  • You agree not to use the Service in violation of any applicable law or regulation, or in violation of our Acceptable Use Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
  • You must be of legal age to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction (and at minimum 13 years of age) to use the Service.

3. No monitoring; right to remove

We do not pre-screen uploads and we do not actively monitor the contents of files. We reserve the right (but not the obligation) at any time, with or without notice and in our sole discretion, to remove, block access to, preserve, or disclose any file:

  • that we believe in good faith violates these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy;
  • that is the subject of a valid takedown notice (including DMCA, GDPR, DSA, court order, or law-enforcement request);
  • that we believe is unlawful, harmful, abusive, or otherwise objectionable; or
  • for any other reason, including operational, security, or legal reasons.

We may also terminate or block access from any IP address, network, or session, at any time and without notice.

4. Reporting illegal content

To report content you believe is illegal, abusive, or violates rights, use the Report Abuse form. The form is the only channel we publish: we do not operate a public contact email. If you provide an email address on the form we may use it to follow up; otherwise, reports are processed without a reply. Copyright complaints should follow the procedure in our DMCA Policy. Suspected child sexual abuse material (CSAM) is reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and/or relevant national authorities.

5. No warranty; service is provided “as is”

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” BASIS, WITH NO WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, that files will be retained for any guaranteed period, or that any data will be recoverable.

Do not use the Service as a backup. Files may be deleted earlier than the selected expiration for operational, security, or legal reasons.

6. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL THE SERVICE, ITS OPERATORS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, CONTRACTORS, OR AFFILIATES BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOST PROFITS, LOST DATA, BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, OR REPUTATIONAL HARM, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF, OR INABILITY TO USE, THE SERVICE OR ANY CONTENT MADE AVAILABLE THROUGH IT, REGARDLESS OF THE LEGAL THEORY (CONTRACT, TORT, STATUTE, OR OTHERWISE) AND EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

Our aggregate liability to you for any and all claims relating to the Service shall not exceed one hundred U.S. dollars (US $100) or the amount you have paid us in the past twelve (12) months, whichever is greater.

7. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the Service and its operators, officers, employees, contractors, and affiliates from and against any and all claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs, debt, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from: (a) your use of the Service; (b) any file you upload or distribute through the Service; (c) your violation of these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy; or (d) your violation of any third-party right, including any intellectual-property, privacy, or publicity right.

8. Cooperation with law enforcement

We will cooperate with valid legal process and law-enforcement requests. We may preserve, disclose, or report any file or associated metadata where we reasonably believe doing so is necessary to comply with applicable law, enforce these Terms, respond to claims that content violates the rights of third parties, or protect the rights, property, or safety of any person.

9. Changes to the Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time by posting an updated version on this page. Your continued use of the Service after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.

10. Governing law & venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of [JURISDICTION, e.g. State of Delaware, USA], without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to the Service or these Terms shall be brought exclusively in the courts located in [JURISDICTION, e.g. State of Delaware, USA], and you consent to personal jurisdiction and venue there.

11. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is held to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

12. Contact

All correspondence regarding the Service — including reports of illegal content, takedown requests, and privacy enquiries — goes through the on-site Report Abuse form. We do not publish a contact email address; if you provide an email on the form we may use it to follow up.

Files self-destruct on schedule. No tracking. No accounts.
